Danish heavy-mix veteran Tue Madsen brings his signature sense of punch and dynamics to reconstruct this beast of a song at his Antfarm Studio. Known for work with acts like The Haunted, Behemoth, and Sick of It All, Tue straddles the line between naturalistic clarity and high-impact aggression. His mix of “MonstroCity” is wide open yet fully controlled, with carefully staged saturation, detailed low-end cohesion, and transient manipulation that allows deeply layered performances to breathe.
This session is particularly rich for advanced mixers. You’ll dive into aligning and locking in Tomas Haake’s jagged, odd-time drum performance with Frederik and Mårten’s dense mesh of downtuned guitars and deep growling bass. Vocal treatment is minimal but effective, with carefully chosen grit and midrange control. There’s no click-track rigidity or quantized safety here—just real players, captured at brutal energy levels.
