Sam Pura
Sam Pura is a producer, engineer, and mixer known for his high-impact sound and intentional approach to capturing performances. Best recognized for his work with The Story So Far, State Champs, Basement, Hundredth, and The Dangerous Summer, Sam has helped define the sound of modern punk, hardcore, and alternative rock.
Based out of The Panda Studios in Fremont, California, Sam has created a space where artists can make records that feel powerful, personal, and timeless. He focuses on getting things right at the source through performance, tone, and mic placement. Instead of relying on presets or homogenized workflows, he builds each record from the ground up to reflect the artist’s identity and vision.
His breakout came with Under Soil and Dirt by The Story So Far, a landmark record that helped spark a new wave of emotionally charged, guitar-driven music. Since then, he has continued to work with a wide range of artists, always prioritizing energy, honesty, and sonic clarity.
Sam is also the founder of Purafied Audio, a company that creates tools and workflows for engineers who care about precision and creative freedom. Whether he’s making a record, building plugins, or helping other producers refine their process, Sam stays committed to pushing the craft forward.
